100+ passwords
The average person already manages more than a hundred logins. A forced account is one more, so they don't make it.
For merchants
Checkout was built to interrogate strangers. Wisp makes every buyer known: a fully KYC'd wallet that turns a verified identity into a one-tap checkout for your customers, and for the AI agents that now shop on their behalf.
The cost today
Your traffic moved to the phone. Your checkout didn't. Every field, every password prompt and every re-typed card costs more on a small screen than on a large one.
Why good buyers leave
The average person already manages more than a hundred logins. A forced account is one more, so they don't make it.
Long, complex checkout, re-typed on every site. Length and complexity are two of the top fixable causes of abandonment.
Handing full card details to an unfamiliar site is a trust barrier before it's a security one. Many simply won't.
Legitimate-looking disputes on real purchases. You absorb the chargeback and the fee, with no verified identity to defend it.
And when they do pay, the bank often says no. Most declines aren't fraud. They're mismatched details, expired cards and blunt risk rules turning good customers away. A verified identity behind the payment removes the guesswork.
How the world shops next
People already send assistants to research and buy for them. Agentic commerce is forecast to be one of the largest shifts in retail since mobile, and it's arriving now.
Shoppers are happy to let agents research, but not to let them buy. Even among Gen Z and millennials it's only around 30%. The missing piece is trust, and that gap is the opportunity.
Stay vigilant
Fraud detection has always leaned on human clumsiness: retries, abandoned sessions, odd velocity, strange typing. Agents remove all of it. Bad actors are technical, patient and quick to adopt new tools, and a single merchant doesn't see enough agent traffic to tell the legitimate from the malicious.
Researchers at Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 have shown working attacks that bypass payment security entirely: hidden instructions on a deals site that add a "$100 Digital Gift Card" to an agent's cart, and hidden HTML that skips return checks to trigger an instant refund.
AI-friendly fake stores, optimised for exactly how agents evaluate options, are already appearing. Agents need to know a store is real, and stores need to know who sent the agent.
Bots grab hard-to-get restaurant tables and resell them, leaving no-shows and late cancellations behind. As Resy puts it, "in an industry where profit margins are already thin, every table counts."
Today's defences are to ban accounts, block traffic and legislate. They're what you reach for when you can't tell who is on the other end, and they hit legitimate customers too. A diner using a lawful AI assistant gets treated as an attacker. Wisp gives you a better answer.
The Wisp answer
The protocols shipping today authenticate the software and tokenise the payment. Neither tells you that a real, identified human is accountable for the order. Wisp does.
“A KYC'd human is accountable for this order.”
Every Wisp shopper completes full KYC against a government ID. A verified identity, not a probability.
Each purchase is confirmed biometrically on the customer's own device, or placed by their agent inside limits they set themselves.
A customer verified at one Wisp merchant arrives at the next already known: no new checks, no new account.
Verified once, trusted by every Wisp merchant. A network effect no single store can build on its own.
Traceable if it goes wrong. KYC is the input. What you receive is a portable, privacy-preserving claim that survives the hand-off between a consumer, an agent they don't fully control, and a merchant who has never met them.
What we've built
Your customer proves who they are a single time. From then on they pay with a tap: no passwords, no re-typed cards, no account to create. Their identity travels with them, on iOS and Android.
Full legal name, date of birth, nationality and document number, captured and verified. That's the passenger data airlines need, and the age and eligibility checks regulated sellers need.
Wisp adds the shopper's loyalty or frequent-flyer number to the purchase automatically. Points are earned every time, and every sale strengthens your programme instead of bypassing it.
A basket moves from whoever built it to whoever pays: a colleague, a family member, an agent. The request lands in their wallet and one tap approves it.
Card-agnostic and app-based, with billing and shipping details filled in. Card data is tokenised and never held raw.

How it works
The shopper completes KYC once, through Wisp.
At your checkout they present a tokenised Wisp credential, never raw card data.
You receive a verified human, not an anonymous stranger to screen and second-guess.
Your payment provider authorises and moves the money. Wisp never holds funds.
Wisp mirrors your existing store as structured data an agent can read. No scraping, nothing to rebuild.
The customer's agent browses your catalogue, prices and options, and fills the cart for them.
It checks out with the customer's Wisp wallet: the same verified, tokenised credential.
A verified, responsible human stands behind the order. You always know who bought.
Wisp is non-custodial. It verifies identity and presents a payment credential; your PSP still authorises and settles every transaction. Card details are tokenised, so your systems never handle raw card data through Wisp.
Where it matters most
Wherever inventory is limited, time-bound or age-gated, knowing exactly who is buying, and whether they're a person or a bot, is worth the most. None of it depends on a card transaction alone.
Operations
Run Wisp across every market, channel and route from a single portal, with no per-market tooling to stitch together.
Questions
KYC is the input. The product is a portable, privacy-preserving, cryptographically verifiable claim that a real person is accountable for an order. It holds up across the hand-off between a consumer, an agent acting for them, and a merchant who has never met them.
No. Wisp is non-custodial. It adds identity and speed alongside the payments you already run; your PSP still authorises and settles every transaction.
Because it makes checkout one tap: no passwords, no forms, no account to create. And as agents start buying, it's what lets their agent complete the purchase instead of getting blocked. Every store that accepts Wisp is one more reason to hold it.
No. Wisp connects to the site you already run and mirrors your catalogue as structured data agents can read and buy from.
